Celebrate This Year’s World Refugee Day

Our annual World Refugee Day celebration is fast approaching, and we are in need of donations!

2023 World Refugee Day Design

This year we will give away gift bags filled with items that refugee families will need for their homes (plus fun gifts for kids). All donations will be given to refugee families as they arrive in Kansas City and will be used to help get them settled into their new home.

If you feel inclined to give back, please ensure all donated items are in their original packaging and standard sizes.

Donations must be delivered to Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas’ Hope Distribution Center (located in Kansas City, KS) or our Administration Office (located in Overland Park, KS). For specifics on the donation process and items we need, please click here.

PLUS, don’t forget to join us as we celebrate our refugee neighbors on Saturday, June 24, from 11am – 2pm, at Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead in Overland Park, KS! We look forward to celebrating with you.

Volunteers Are Needed to Assist With Our Upcoming Estate Sale

We have a great opportunity for those who love vintage items and have a knack for organizing. Help us prepare for our upcoming estate sale scheduled for July 7-8, in Lenexa’s Colony Hills neighborhood.

In the days leading up to the sale, volunteers are needed to help unbox and price items and set up the displays. Volunteers are also essential on the days of the sale, helping supervise rooms, providing customer service and ringing up the purchases. To sign up for a shift, click here.
