2023 World Refugee Day Design

World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations. It falls each year on June 20 and commemorates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. Every year, Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas hosts a World Refugee Day event in honor of the families who have been resettled in our community and in advocacy for those still displaced abroad.

Join us as we celebrate our refugee neighbors on Saturday, June 24, at Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead in Overland Park, KS. The event will be from 11am-2pm and will include food, music and activities for kids. All regular activities at Deanna Rose will be available to participate in.

If you are interested in attending, volunteering or want to learn more about this special event, please email Hope Thompson or Kylee NewtonClick here to view volunteer openings and sign-up slots.
