Thank you to everyone who joined us at this year’s 42nd Annual Ben & Betty Zarda Family Golf Classic at Lake Quivira Country Club. For more than four decades this event has helped feed thousands of hungry children and families across northeast Kansas.

We are proud to announce that nearly $173,000 was raised through this year’s event! Since 1981, the Ben & Betty Zarda Family Golf Classic has generated more than $3 million for Catholic Charities Foundation of Northeast Kansas.

Each year, the event’s Fund-A-Need has helped provide food assistance during the summer months. This financial support is critically-needed, as food pantries struggle to keep stock during the summer due to a decline in donations. The demand is also much greater during the summer, as schools are out of session and children who qualify for free or reduced lunch no longer have access to a consistent healthy meal. Increasing costs due to inflation have also added yet another layer of hardship to families who may already be financially struggling.

This year over 170 sponsors, teams, volunteers and Catholic Charities staff helped continue the Zarda family legacy.
