Keith and his wife Shelly were paired with Jim and Dee for over eight years through Catholic Charities’ Friendly Visitors program. Jim and Dee never had children. Each was the last remaining sibling in their families. This foursome would enjoy visits and monthly dinners together. Shelly and Keith helped when it was time to move Jim and Dee to Senior Assisted living. The visits and friendship continued! Late one night in May, Dee needed to be taken to the hospital ER where she passed away. Early the next morning it was Keith and a nurses that told Jim the news. Jim passed away a short time later, within eight hours of his beloved wife. Theirs was a story of true love and devotion and Keith and Shelly were most grateful for their friendship! All four lives were enriched by this friendship and these special relationships are the best part of Friendly Visitors.
