Thanks Be To Those Who Help Us Help Others

At Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, our volunteers are vital to the success of our programs and services.  Nearly 1,200 people volunteer each month serving in a variety of ways–from hosting food drives to sorting donations at TurnStyles to providing companionship and support as a Friendly Visitor or Hospice volunteer.  Last year, our volunteers logged 225,323 hours helping those in our community – an average that’s 187 hours per volunteer!

On December 14, the Catholic Charities Volunteer team hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Mass at St. Agnes Catholic Church celebrated by Fr. Bill Porter. The congregation enjoyed the musical talents of the St. Agnes Children’s Choir.  Following Mass, the volunteers were treated to a wine and cheese reception.

“We can’t thank our volunteers enough for all that they do!” said Michelle Carlstedt, Director of Volunteers.  “We are blessed to have them to help carry out the mission of Catholic Charities.”
