Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas joyfully extends our prayerful congratulations and warm welcome to the Most Reverend Shawn McKnight, S.Th.D., as he begins his new role as the fifth Archbishop of our Archdiocese. As the charitable arm of the Church, Catholic Charities is eager to explore new ideas and opportunities under his pastoral leadership. With the faithful support of His Excellency and our steadfast Catholic community, we look forward to advancing our mission of providing help, hope and hospitality to more than 70,000 brothers and sisters in need across the Archdiocese, together.

As one of his first community engagements, Archbishop McKnight is teaming up with Catholic Charities to feed the hungry. All are invited to donate fresh fruit and produce items greatly needed by our food pantries, and meet our new Archbishop, at our upcoming Fresh Start Food Drive.

Join Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas on Saturday, May 31st from 10am-noon at Fiorella’s Event Space parking lot located at 9000 West 137th Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66221.

Fresh food items most needed by our pantries include:

– Apples

– Oranges

– Potatoes/Sweet Potatoes

– Carrots

– Onions

– Cottage Cheese

– Yogurt
