Community Support Helps Spread Christmas Cheer

Nearly 300 children will have a merrier Christmas, thanks to the generosity of Catholic Charities’ supporters.

Parish and Community Outreach Coordinator, Camille Pickhinke, and Volunteer Coordinator, Nancy Pennington, reached out to the community to identify those families in need who might not otherwise be able to afford a gift for their child.  As the wish list items came pouring in, the community responded.

The Curé of Ars’ Mothers of Young Children ministry,  parishioners of St. Agnes, and individual businesses and families purchased and wrapped many of these wish list items.  After sorting, tagging and bagging, they were loaded into several SUVs for delivery.  These modern day sleighs trekked across our 21-county service area making deliveries to cities such as Garnett, Emporia, Frankfort, Marysville, Holton, Blaine and Sabetha.
