Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas serves families in need over a half a million times each year. This wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of over 1,600 volunteers each month.

Our volunteers not only provide a much-needed extra pair of hands, but they allow our agency on a whole to offer compassionate services to people in need.

Volunteers provide a variety of support, including assisting in the food pantries, hosting a food drive, sorting and organizing sale items for TurnStyles and mentoring individuals in our financial and immigration programs.

To celebrate the over 240,000 hours logged by our volunteers last year, Catholic Charities’ Volunteer and Outreach teams hosted an appreciation event to serve those who normally do the serving. On November 29, a Mass was held at Queen of the Holy Rosary in Overland Park celebrated by Fr. Jim Ludwikoski. Following Mass, the volunteers were treated to a wine and cheese reception.

“At Catholic Charities, we are so grateful for the continued service and dedication our volunteers provide. They put love into action every day and it is amazing to see the positive impact being made with those we serve,” expressed Cari Olberding, Lead Volunteer Engagement Coordinator. “Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers for their time, talent and support.”
