This summer, Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas welcomed interns through our Catholic Summer Internship Kansas City (CSI KC) program. We are extremely grateful for their dedication and passion in serving our mission this summer. Their efforts helped positively contribute to various programs including: Kids Summer Food, La Luz Immigration Clinic, English Language Learning, Citizenship Preparation, New Roots, Refugee School Impact, Refugee Health Literacy, Adoption & Pregnancy Support Services and Workforce Development.

“Our interns helped to serve our community in ways that we could not have done without them. Some things our interns worked on included leading events with children at the refugee youth summer camp, serving meals, assisting clients in food pantries and meetings with case managers, managing farm plots with New Roots farmers, teaching classes and so much more,” said Kristen Pettibon, Community Engagement Coordinator.
