Over 2,500 frozen turkeys and holiday trimmings are expected to be collected for families this Thanksgiving, thanks to the generosity of community partners, parishes across the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, and the wealth management company, Creative Planning!

Local parishes and Creative Planning host annual turkey drives the weekend before Thanksgiving. During the drives, turkeys and other ingredients for holiday side dish staples are collected and later distributed to families in need at our Hope Distribution Center and seven Family Support Centers across Kansas.

Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas Family Support Center food pantries have been heavily impacted by this year’s growing inflation. More families are seeking assistance than ever before.

“The families that receive donations from these Thanksgiving turkey drives are greatly impacted by the generosity of our parishes and local businesses. Not only do these drives help combat hunger, they are providing an opportunity for connection for these families.”

— Kendra Dudasko, Outreach Coordinator
