March proved to be a busy month of volunteer service for the students and faculty at Saint James Academy. They kicked off the month with their annual “Canstruction” food drive which resulted in collecting over 17,000 lbs of food for Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas. Their generous contribution helps provide food to over 350 families in need across our 21 county service area. At the end of March, we were blessed once again by the generosity of the Saint James Academy community.
Over 50 students, teachers, and adult chaperones selected Catholic Charities as the recipient of their annual Serve Day. Together, they assembled food. boxes for the Foster Grandparent program, cleaned and stocked the food pantry shelves at Hope Distribution Center, and provided general outside building clean-up at our Central office location. We appreciate this group of young volunteers for donating their time, talent and treasure to help others in our community.
