Renee and her two daughters, Mia and Savana, had been staying at a hotel and paying rent by the week. She was rapidly running out of money and resources. The family was receiving free warm meals from a partner agency. While visiting the agency, Renee was told about the services our local Emergency Assistance Center (EAC) had available. She made an appointment with one of our case managers.
While at our EAC, Renee looked at the job board and found a position at a temporary placement firm but she had to apply online and had no computer. She was invited to use a computer at our office.
The temp firm called Renee the next day to set up her job interview. She returned to our EAC very excited about her interview but she was stressed because she didn’t have any business-casual attire. She shopped our EAC’s Clothing Closet where she found an outfit and shoes for her job interview.
Renee returned to our EAC two weeks later and was proud to
report that she had just received her second paycheck! She thanked our EAC manager and signed up to volunteer at our office.
