A group of charitable women, known as the “Kindness Club” throughout Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, have made a profound impact on the lives of those we serve for the past half year.

Inspired to give back, Carolyn Lacy and six of her friends decided to start giving donations to Catholic Charities once per month.

“We had been thinking for a few years of ways to give back to our Catholic community with small acts of kindness. We decided to begin donating items monthly to Catholic Charities, selecting the items of greatest need,” said Lacy.

From assembling backpacks and hygiene kits for the Resource Bus, to purchasing books for our Family Support Centers, comforters, blankets and other home essentials for newly resettled families, the Kindness Club has been incredibly generous.

“This one group of friends has positively impacted hundreds of lives, both in our rural and metropolitan areas,” said Kendra Dudasko, Outreach Coordinator. “The way they’re giving back is intentional. They are always willing to go above and beyond,” she added.

The Kindness Club demonstrates how even the smallest acts of charity can have an immense impact on others. For those inspired to follow in the group’s footsteps, Carolyn offers this advice: “Don’t hesitate, think about how you can help, then act.”
