St. Thomas Aquinas Food Drive – November 2016

Last week, St. Thomas Aquinas High School students, staff, parents and alums hosted their annual “CANsas City” Food Drive for their neighbors in need!

They collected – and we are the grateful beneficiaries of – 93,624 food items for our central Hope Distribution Center which supplies healthy food for neighbors in need at our 9 area food pantries. Yes, 93,624 items – that is quite a feat lead by high school students in a mere week!

The St. Thomas Aquinas (STA) food drive is beyond measure important to helping Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas provide food for over 20,000 individuals per month over the winter months. We are so blessed to have the STA family helping us annually with their impressive food drive. Without STA, we wouldn’t be able to feed the hungry. If you know any STA families please let them personally know how very appreciative we are that they have chosen Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas to be their nonprofit of choice!
