COVID-19 continues to affect, not only the physical health, but the financial well-being of individuals and families in our community. Many are struggling as they try to figure out whether they are eligible for emergency paid sick leave or childcare subsidies. They have questions about what to do if they are unable to pay their mortgage/rent and utility bills due to a loss of employment during this pandemic.

“The current financial uncertainty and volume of new information can be overwhelming,” says Suzanne Evans, Program Manager, Asset Development.

To help, Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas has created a tool to assist the community as they navigate the financial impacts and resources during COVID-19. The information, which is broken down by topic, is constantly updated.

“We’ve tried to simplify the information into a format that’s easy to understand,” adds Suzanne. “Hopefully, it will take some stress off during a time when people are already so burdened.”
