In the span of just one year, Morning Glory Estate Sales has carved a niche for itself in the estate sale industry. Since its launch in March 2023, the social enterprise has held four in-home sales, one online estate sale and two online auctions.

From the very first sale, where a treasure trove of vintage children’s storybooks found a new home, to the latest and largest sale, where an entire Topeka estate sold items ranging from tractors to fine art, each sale has been a great success.

“We’ve had such a positive response from the community and local business partners. Every sale, people have been appreciative and positively commented on our staff’s professionalism, setup and cleanliness of the estate and how they are happy to support our new business, since funds are channeled back to Catholic Charities,” said Ginger Jackson, Manager of Estate Sales.

Unlike traditional estate sale companies, Morning Glory commissions directly fund Catholic Charities’ 30+ programs. Morning Glory is also a true full-service estate sales company, offering services such as donation removal and consignment.

Limited staffing posed a challenge for the business in its first year, but through volunteer engagement and community outreach, the business has built a strong foundation for future growth.

“We have had many amazing milestones and memorable moments over the last year. Some of my favorite moments have included working through a winter wonderland and watching a life-size bronze be rehomed,” said Jackson. “Adding online auctions to our list of offerings has also been something new and exciting. We have a lot to look forward to in the years ahead,” she added.

Morning Glory Estate Sales aims to build up its team of staff and volunteers in order to support multiple sales per month. The social enterprise also plans on strengthening its consignment division, offering items for sale nationally in a Chairish shop and at a booth in Glenwood Antique Mall.
