While it’s not a typical school day, the lessons learned as part of St. Agnes’ 2021 Rams Reaching Out Day go far beyond the classroom. Students of all ages worked on several projects that will help Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas make an impact in the community.
Director of Community Engagement, Camille Pickhinke said, “We are so grateful to St. Agnes and their generous support for our neighbors in need through their annual Rams Reaching Out Day. We had to adapt this year– but we made it happen and it was a great success!”
Projects included completing 20 elementary and 20 middle school backpacks for the Refugee Back to School Camp, sorting 15 bins of food donations, hosting a clothing drive for TurnStyles, donating books and bookmarks, decorating grocery bags for our food pantries, and creating Hope cards.
“It is such a joy seeing the students answering the Gospel call to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We look forward to returning in-person next year to serve alongside the students,” Camille said.
