Hope Hero Shout-Out: Back-to-School Supply Drives Provide Hope for Kids

Back-to-school supply drives play a vital role in ensuring that children from low-income families have the necessary resources to start the school year on a positive note. Support from both our local and rural communities has allowed us to provide kids in need with essential supplies, including backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils and more, for the upcoming school year.

“From families at our local parishes to volunteers at our Leavenworth, KS, Family Support Center (FSC) – we are continually inspired by the immense compassion and generosity of our donors throughout our 21 counties,” said Annette Bentzinger, Parish, School and Community Outreach Coordinator. “Please know that your efforts make a significant impact in the lives of these children, empowering them to succeed in their educational journey.”

A Special Thanks to:

  • St. John Paul II Catholic Church (Olathe, KS) donated 53 backpacks.
  • Our Leavenworth FSC received financial donations from community partners, parishes and churches to purchase and giveaway 200+ backpacks.
  • Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School (Shawnee, KS), St. Agnes Catholic School (Roeland Park, KS) and friends of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas purchased backpacks and school supplies for our Family Support Centers and Resource Bus.
