This past fiscal year, 8,624 volunteers gave their time, energy and hearts to serve our neighbors in need, and because of them, hope was restored in homes, food was placed on tables and dignity was returned to thousands of lives across northeast Kansas.
Volunteers contributed 147,00 hours of service—the equivalent of over 70 full-time employees. This isn’t just a number—it’s thousands of meals distributed, bags packed, phone calls answered, shelves stocked, stories heard and prayers silently shared. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, volunteers, for all you do. You are an important part of our mission.
Family Support Centers
Volunteers are needed to assist guests in the pantry, help stock shelves and pack transition bags. Front desk volunteers are needed to answer phones, check-in guests and enter guest information into our Apricot database. We have immediate openings at locations in/outside the KC Metro.
TurnStyles Thrift Stores
Volunteers are critical to the success of TurnStyles Thrift and are needed to help sort and tag donated items and prepare them to be placed on the sales floor. Volunteers can also provide a helping hand by working at the register or appraising items for the eBay store. Volunteer shifts are available at any of our three locations. We do accept student volunteers at all three locations. Students must be 14 years or older to volunteer alone. Students ages 11-13 may volunteer with a parent or guardian present.
