Thank you to our community partners who helped ensure that hundreds of children across the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas started the school year ready to learn! This summer, many generous individuals donated essential back-to-school supplies for children, in addition to hygiene items, such as underwear, and even books to share at home.

  • The Leavenworth community provided financial donations to purchase school supplies and 200+ backpacks for local families with children.
  • The Kindness Club donated 60 fully stocked backpacks to the Resource Bus, while a board member contributed 12 more.
  • St. Agnes Catholic School’s spring School Serve Experience provided 30 backpacks for the Refugee School Impact (RSI) program. Local businesses, KPI Solutions and Automatic Systems Inc., also donated a variety of school supplies for RSI.
  • At our Hope Distribution Center (HDC) food warehouse, 90 empty backpacks were filled with miscellaneous items for students in Wyandotte County.

“Themed drives unite our community for an intentional purpose, outside of our ordinary ask for food or financial donations,” said Kendra Dudasko, Outreach Coordinator. “We often focus on food because hungry tummies can’t focus in school, but even with good nutrition, students still need the right supplies to thrive in school.”
