There was no shortage of smiles at our Emergency Assistance Centers a few days leading up to Thanksgiving. Volunteers joined staff, distributing a record number 1,800 turkeys to those in need. Most of the turkeys were donated. They came from parishes and others who wanted to help. “We are so blessed by the continued generosity of our parishes. Our parishioners are the hands and feet of Christ. We couldn’t do this without their support,” explains Kelly Kearney, Vice President of Development. Many, including Kelly, made the turkey distribution a family activity. “I can’t tell you how much this meant to my family,” he says. “To be able to volunteer with my children and share in the joy of serving Thanksgiving meals to families in need is a privilege. It changes your heart in ways you cannot describe.”
