Refugee Welcoming Week begins on September 9! During Welcoming Week, organizations and communities bring together neighbors of all backgrounds to build strong connections and affirm the importance of welcoming and inclusive places in achieving collective prosperity.

Thursday, September 9th– Join the virtual kickoff of Welcoming Week hosted by welcoming America on Facebook or YouTube https://welcomingamerica.org/initiatives/welcoming-week/

 

Friday, September 10th- Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas will host an Open House at the 600 Minnesota location in Kansas City, Kansas. Come check out the building and learn about what we do! Topics will focus on Refugee and Immigration Services. Snacks and refreshments provided.

Monday, September 13th-  Join Communities Concerned for Immigrants & Refugees (CCIR) for a panel discussion on refugee resettlement processes and hear from national representatives and the resettlement agencies in the Kansas city metro on both sides of the state line. The event will be live streamed and offered in person. Lunch will be provided to those attending in person. Monday, September 13th– Come learn about the refugee experience with short films and discussion. Doors open at 6:45 pm, films will start at 7 pm.

 

Saturday, September 18th- Learn how YOU can get involved in supporting refugees and other displaced populations with an interactive presentation! Location- Bishop Ward Library, doors open at 3:45 pm; presentation will start at 4 pm.
