This video and written comments were presented to participants at the 42nd Annual Snow Ball benefiting Catholic Charities Foundation of Northeast Kansas.
Tonight we gather to celebrate the generosity of our loyal donors and the dedication of our hard working Snow Ball committee members. The love that all of you put into giving year after year is truly a blessing.
Most of all, we celebrate how Snow Ball directly impacts our neighbors in need throughout the Archdiocese’s 21 county service area. Its fundraising success is crucial to Catholic Charities’ ability to help the poor and most vulnerable at all stages of life.
Last year alone, Catholic Charities provided food assistance 174,000 times to those struggling to feed their families; financial services to those faced with difficult decisions such as whether to buy needed medication for a loved one or pay rent and utility bills; and housing support for those in need of shelter.
In addition, Catholic Charities resettled more than 400 refugees who traveled halfway around the world in pursuit of a safe environment for their families; matched infants with their new forever families; provided in-home support to the elderly; and offered hospice care to those at the end of life’s journey.
Thank you for opening your hearts and giving the gift of HOPE to those who need it the most. We pray that God will continue to bless you, your families and all those served by Catholic Charities.
