We are always looking for ways to find partnerships in our community that will help us serve our neighbors in need. Our TurnStyles Thrift Stores recently created a partnership with Walmart that gives back to our stores and our eight food pantries.
Walmart recently moved away from selling its liquidation pallets and donating them to different charitable groups. Each week, 8-21 pallets of brand new items, consumables and non-consumables, are donated.
“It brings me great joy to see the partnerships that can be created between large businesses and non-profits working to support members of the community,” says Senior Director Of Facilities and Store Operations Ryan Forshee.
Most consumables go to our Hope Distribution Center and are distributed to our food pantries. These goods allow our pantries to provide additional resources to those we serve. The non-consumables are sold at TurnStyles, and give our shoppers unique opportunities to find great deals on brand new items, all while supporting our ministries through the revenue that is generated.
“TurnStyles gets to play a key role in providing sustainability to families by providing lower cost options for great quality needs. Walmart is helping our shoppers stretch their dollars by donating to our ministry,” adds Forshee.
