Sixty years ago the average dinner time was 90 minutes. Today, it’s less than 12 minutes.
Food is so much more than nourishment for the body; sharing a meal can be nourishment for the soul, as well. But for some families who are struggling to put food on the table, the thought of gathering around a holiday feast seems unrealistic.
Thanks to our local businesses and parishes, nearly 2,500 families will be celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday with a turkey and all the fixin’s.
Over 160 employees and their families from Creative Planning, Inc., initiated the giving by assembling holiday food packages and distributing over 750 turkeys at our Hope Distribution Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
Parishioners from Church of the Ascension, Curè of Ars, Divine Mercy, Holy Trinity, St. Ann’s Catholic Parish and St. Michael the Archangel collectively contributed over 1,800 turkeys during their weekend Turkey Drives.
