Hope Hero Shout Out!
Four-year-old Joslyn bounced through the doors at Catholic Charities pulling a wagon twice the size of her small frame. Days earlier, Joslyn had been pulling that same wagon through her neighborhood collecting food to donate to our Emergency Assistance Centers.
Quiet and unassuming, Joslyn didn’t quite know why all the fuss was being made about making her donation. When asked how she came up with the idea of donating food, she shyly smiled and shrugged her shoulders.
“I just thought of it in my brain,” she matter-of-factly stated. “I painted signs to put on my wagon and went around the block asking people for food.”
“Then it got heavy and mom had to help pull [the wagon],” she added.
When asked why they selected Catholic Charities to receive their donation, Joslyn’s mom filled in some of the details.
“We were struggling awhile back and Catholic Charities was there to help,” said Joslyn’s mom, Lindsay. “Joslyn wanted to give back and this is what she decided to do.”
Thank you, Joslyn, for your big heart and generous donation!
