Did you know this month is Hunger Action Month? Every September, this national campaign inspires individuals to take action and raise awareness of hunger in the United States. We hope you will join us this month in a “Give it Up Challenge.” Consider giving up something small, like a daily store-bought coffee or weekly takeout, and donate the equivalent in support of food assistance.

One in seven people (one in five children) face hunger in Kansas. Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas is committed to addressing food insecurity through many ways, including providing food pantry access via Family Support Centers or our Rural Family Support Services; monthly mobile food distributions; free meals for kids during the annual Kids Summer Food Program; and assistance with enrollment in federal programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). We rely on the generosity of community-led food drives and donations to ensure our pantry shelves are stocked. Please consider making a small donation in support of Hunger Action Month.
