A MESSAGE FROM LAUREN SOLIDUM, PRESIDENT & CEO

“I have no gift to bring pa rum pum pum pum….”

I think all of us at one time or another can relate to the Little Drummer Boy. Although he had a God-given talent of being able to play a musical instrument, he still felt that he did not have any real gift worthy of giving to someone else. The truth is, we all have something to give.

“Come they told me, pa rum pum pum pum…”

At Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, we are blessed to witness the many gifts that people have to offer. Over 1,600 volunteers each month help us carry out our mission. They serve in a variety of ways. They provide leadership and guidance as a member of our Board of Directors or as an event committee member; they organize food, clothing and furniture drives; they volunteer weekly in our Emergency Assistance Centers, at our TurnStyles Thrift stores or at our administrative office; they check-in by phone with our elderly who are homebound; or they pray at the bedside of one of our Catholic Community Hospice patients.

“Then he smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum…Me and my drum”

We appreciate all who have graciously given us their time, talent and treasure. We invite others to recognize their special gifts and engage with us – with individuals and families in need — in some way during the coming year.

From all of us at Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, we thank you for your support and wish you a Merry Christmas!
