The Hy-Vee Food Drive empowers shoppers to actively help address food insecurity within their community!

Volunteers play a crucial role by meeting at one of three local Hy-Vee grocery stores. Their task is to set up a welcoming table in front of the store and kindly hand out donation slips to customers walking in. These slips serve as gentle reminders, encouraging shoppers to purchase items that are most needed in our food pantries. Volunteers will then assist in loading all donations onto one of our transit vans.

With the help of these donations, we are able to keep our shelves stocked and continue to serve our community.

Store Captain

Hy-Vee Food Drive volunteer responsibilities include driving a transit to and from the Overland Park Family Support Center (9720 W 87th Street, Overland Park, KS 66212) and the Hy-Vee location. Store Captains will also be responsible for setting up the table, load the donations into the transit van at the end of the day, and work with other volunteers to hand out flyers and collect donations.

Volunteers must have a clean driving record as they will be driving an agency vehicle.
