Warehouse Vehicle Drop-Off Support

During community food drives, Catholic Charities positions trucks at multiple collection sites. A support volunteer follows the CCNEK driver to each site, ensures the truck is parked safely, and transports the driver back to the Hope Distribution Center (HDC) so they can stage the next drop-off. 

 

Purpose of the role 

To streamline truck placement for food-drive events, reducing staff travel time and allowing more donations to be collected in a single day. 

 

Duties 

  • Drive behind the CCNEK vehicle in your own car or an agency vehicle (if cleared as a volunteer driver). 
  • Confirm safe placement of the truck at the designated location. 
  • Provide return transportation for the CCNEK driver to HDC. 
  • Communicate by phone/text with warehouse coordinator to report completion of each drop-off. 
  • Maintain confidentiality and display professionalism while representing CCNEK in the community. 

 

Qualifications 

  • 18 years or older; valid driver’s license and clean driving record. 
  • Reliable personal vehicle or completion of CCNEK fleet-driver onboarding to use an agency car. 
  • Comfortable navigating metro-area streets and parking lots. 
  • Cell phone for real-time communication and GPS. 
  • Punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work independently once trained. 

 

Time Commitment:
2-3 hours per week
