Introducing & Incorporating Catholic Social Teaching Into Curriculum
Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas works closely with schools in our community to bring education, hands-on learning and a strong understanding of the social teachings of the Catholic Church to students.
Through our partnerships with schools in our 21 county service area, we are dedicated to caring for our neighbors in need, advocating for justice and providing opportunities to grow in love of God and neighbor.
Food Drives
Many schools host food drives and invite Catholic Charities staff to share about the effects of food insecurity and poverty in their local community, and then collect non-perishable items for our neighbors in need.
If your school would like to host a food drive or collect items to support one our of 25+ programs, contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!

School Serve Experiences
One way we partner with local schools is through School Serve Experiences. These events engage the entire student body. Students learn about the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas and the ways that we integrate the importance of human dignity, Catholic Social Teaching and the Works of Mercy into our daily work.
The students also complete age-appropriate activities which benefit our 25+ programs. Older students have the opportunity to serve off-site at our TurnStyles Thrift Stores or Hope Distribution Center. Throughout the School Serve Experience, students learn about empathy, discover ways to engage with charitable efforts in their community and develop a heart for lifelong service.
Colleges & Universities
We also partner with institutions of higher education through speaking engagements, attending volunteer fairs, career fairs and hosting several internship opportunities throughout our 25+ programs.
