TurnStyles Thrift, a ministry of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, began when Catholic Charities started to receive more calls from donors wanting to donate household items than there were neighbors in need who could use these items. The first TurnStyles Thrift location opened on February 14, 2004 to sell excess items to the public with the proceeds going directly back to our 30+ programs.

Donation drops-offs, which initially averaged 20 per week, grew steadily while volunteer support blossomed. One year later, the flagship TurnStyles Thrift store relocated to its current location near 87th Street and Farley in Overland Park, Kansas. Two additional locations later opened in Mission and southern Overland Park and an Antique Mall booth was added at Glenwood Antique Mall.

Today, TurnStyles has more than $1 million in annual revenue which is poured back into our communities and benefits from the support of hundreds of volunteers.
