How You Can Help
  • Hy-Vee Store Captain: Saturdays only – once a month! Catholic Charities partners with four Johnson County Hy-Vee stores, who allow us to conduct food drives at their stores. Volunteer responsibilities include picking up a Catholic Charities vehicle, setting up a table at the store and overseeing volunteers.
  • Resource Bus Driver: Direct assistance is provided to those living in rural, outlying areas through our two Resource buses. Each bus is equipped with basic essentials including food, hygiene items, diapers and clothing. A case manager will also ride along to help with direct financial assistance. Every Tuesday and Wednesday, the bus is sent to a scheduled area to assist families. We ask volunteer drivers to commit to one route a month.
