Our volunteers serve in a number of ways, hosting food drives to help feed hungry families, selling donated items with our ebay store team, organizing the clothing at TurnStyles, and so much more! Here is a sample of volunteer job opportunities at Catholic Charities.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES

Volunteer with Food Assistance – Make a difference by helping to feed the hungry:

• Volunteer for a Hy-Vee Food Drive on Saturdays at one of five stores in Johnson County. Volunteers hand out slips of paper to shoppers that list most-needed food items and collect donations that go straight to our food pantries. • Work a Mobile Food Distribution. On the THIRD Saturday of each month we distribute fresh produce, proteins, bread, etc. to 300 families in Wyandotte County. Volunteer Helping Homeless – Make a difference by caring for others:

• Bring a meal to the homeless men of Shalom House. Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age to visit Shalom House. We are seeking groups to provide a nutritious meal to the men staying in our shelter. This is a great opportunity for those interested in a recurring activity.

For each month we have the following openings:

1st Friday of the month

3rd Saturday of the month

4th Sunday of the month

29th day of the month

31st day of the month

• All locations: We are seeking volunteers to help us accept donations, process donated items and support the sales floor. Volunteers are welcome at all TurnStyles Thrift store locations.
  • Turnstyles at 87th Street is located at 9750 W 87th St, Overland Park, KS 66212
  • TurnStyles at 135th & Nieman is located at 11310 W 135th Street Overland Park, KS  66213
  • TurnStyles Thrift on Martway is 5304 Martway, Mission, KS
• All stores welcome volunteers during business hours:o   Tuesday – Friday from 9am – 7pmo   Saturday from 9am – 6pm

• At TurnStyles, help is always needed to sort clothing, create visually interesting merchandise displays on the sales floor, or help receive items in the donation bay.  Volunteers must be at least 10 to serve with an adult, 14 years to serve alone.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROUPS

Do you have a youth/employee/community group that would like an opportunity to give back? If so, we provide volunteer activities at both TurnStyles Thrift Stores and our Hope Distribution Center warehouse. Or you can host your own drive (food, clothing, household items for refugee program, etc.) Fill out a group interest form below and a volunteer coordinator will get back with you to arrange an engaging experience.
