The Resource Bus is a mobile outreach initiative designed to bring vital resources to the 15 rural counties in which we do not have a physical brick and mortar building. The bus is equipped with essentials including food and hygiene items. Clients seeking assistance with rent and utilities have the opportunity to communicate via phone call with a case manager from our Atchison Family Support Center.
The program is actively seeking volunteers who can drive the bus, assist with unloading items and interact with clients during the food distribution. By volunteering with the Resource Bus, individuals can make a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.
“I have met extraordinary people, including other volunteers, while driving the Resource Bus. Everyone I’ve connected with truly appreciates the time and effort provided,” said a volunteer named Phil. “When driving the bus back to Hope Distribution Center at the end of the day, I leave with a feeling of satisfaction knowing I helped someone in need,” he added.
