Sweet Potatoes – Besides being delicious, sweet potatoes are excellent sources of vitamins and minerals. They are excellent roasted with a sprinkle of cinnamon and chili powder. Don’t forget a generous pinch of salt to bring out their naturally sweet flavor. Sweet potatoes can also be baked as fries, or boiled and mashed with butter for a simple and tasty side dish. For special occasions, try sweet potatoes au gratin, with lots of sage and thyme. Sweet potatoes should be kept in a cool, dark place. Although they are cleaned before being sold, you should always give them a quick scrub before preparing.
