My name is Mari and this is my hope story…

I’ve worked with my case manager as part of the Kansas Loan Pool Project (KLPP) program for almost a year. It’s been a process. Nothing easy about it.

By being an active participant in the KLPP program (attending classes, meeting regularly with my case manager, keeping up with my goals), I was able to shop at the Catholic Charities’ food pantry weekly and received assistance with my rent and utilities. With my case manager’s help, I also developed a budget and we worked together to troubleshoot areas of my budget that were high. I found out how many spending leaks I had and I learned how to live within my means. In March of this year, I am very proud to share that I successfully paid off my loan. In my final meeting with my case manager, I expressed my gratitude for the program and all the assistance she provided me but most of all, I thanked her for having faith in me.
