Services for new refugees
Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas helps refugees stabilize and rebuild their lives through a detailed process of case management. From welcoming a refugee at the airport to arranging doctor’s appointments, our case managers are responsible for coordinating a refugee’s early integration into life in America.
Our Reception & Placement services, part of our Refugee Case Management program, are the first step in assisting refugees who are new to the United States.
Reception & Placement Services Include
- Help with securing housing and communicating with landlord partners
- Arrangement of medical screenings and immunizations
- School enrollment assistance for children
- Help obtaining all necessary paperwork
- Education about life and culture in the U.S.
- Connections to employment services
- Aid with medical and cash assistance applications
After a 90-day period of initial assistance building the connections a refugee will need to live here, refugees are then referred to one of our long-term case management programs.
